Howe at the end of Magdalena Avenue in Los Altos Hills. Segment 2 (silent): Bulldozers demolishing Los Gatos Town Hall, built in 1913 of concrete and redwood. Segment 3 (silent): Santa Clara County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Cvetan demonstrates the new prison bus, which can also be used as a mobile booking station. The design was adopted after the Watts riots the previous year. Reel 2: Segment 1 (sound): Pilot Jerrie Mock explains why she is setting out to break the record for longest non-stop flight by a woman. Shots of her Cessna 206 plane (N155JM) on the tarmac in San Jose, after she was diverted from San Francisco due to bad weather. Segment 2 (silent + sound): Shot of San Jose City Council meeting in regular chambers; members get up to leave, but Virginia Shaffer and Robert Welsch stay put. Welsch says it's his opinion that it wasn't a matter for executive session. City Attorney Palla explains why he advised the Council to go into closed door session. Council is being accused of violating the Brown Act prohibiting government secret meetings. Segment 3 (silent): Shots of two men trying to start a single engine Luscomb prop plane (N1821K) in a field; eventually plane takes off over the field. Redwood City pilot Tom Graham and passenger Jim Smith of Mountain View made an emergency landing in the field in O'Connell Ranch near Morgan Hill.
