This is followed by journalist statement to camera introducing his segment: "If anyone has any doubts as to the tremendous job that the army aviators are performing in Vietnam, then a visit to this aviation facility at Fort Ord would certainly dispel those doubts. For this 20 man unit is composed almost entirely of Vietnam veterans, an elite group of fliers with a record second to none. They have a combined total of over 7,000 hours in combat, with an average of over 450 combat missions. Under the command of Colonel Ted Devine, the section abounds with decoration: 12 Air Medals, 95 Oak Leaf Clusters, 2 Purple Hearts, 3 Bronze Stars and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
