Reel 1: Segment 1 (silent, color): Circus animals. Row of elephants seen from behind, as they are feeding inside an open-air building with corrugated roof. Close-up of a chain around one of the elephant's back legs. Children are seen looking through a chain link fence as other animals, including bears, tigers and lions, are unloaded from a truck in cages. Segment 2 (silent, color): Close-up of gears, mechanical device. Scientist in lab coat putting a mechanical device together that shoots flames. Cut to a still shot of a color illustration of two soldiers with jet packs. One of the soldiers is lifting off the ground. Another color illustration shows astronauts on a red plant with their jet packs. Segment 3 (sound): Two men from the Better Business Bureau being interviewed about opening up an office in an unspecified community, standing with trees in the background. "Last year, the Better Business Bureau had 7,000 inquiries in this area without anyone to serve them down here in this community." They hope to provide better service to people looking to find statistics on business firms when trying to choose a business to use, but are clear that they only provide facts, not advice. Reel 2: Segment 1 (sound): Man speaking to camera from his desk about union coalition. "A coalition of some 8 unions that bargain with Westinghouse and General Electric has been formed. This coalition is one which the company believes is going to tend to bring about a strike. This is the first time a coalition has been formed, only one of which is certified to bargain with General Electric on a national basis. All the others are certified locally to bargain locally for the various union folks they represent throughout the country. The coalition has taken the position that it wants to bargain nationally with General Electric even though they are certified to bargain only locally. Mr. Day's statement that this kind of a move escalates the strike is based on the acknowledged theory on the part of the union. There have been statements by union officials who are part of this coalition that no one of these unions will sign an agreement unless all of them sign..." Segment 2 (silent): Shipwreck debris on a beach, with people walking around, picking up pieces and looking at them. A plaque on one of the pieces of wood reads, "Happy sailing from your cast and crew 'Way...Way Out' 3-16-65." [The movie "Way...Way Out" was released in 1966] Segment 3 (silent): Firemen and police on residential street at the scene of an overturned commercial truck from T. J. Sim San Jose truck rentals. Reel 3: Segment 1 (sound): San Jose Councilman Ron James speaking to camera. "As former chairman of the San Jose Planning Commission, and also chairman of the Joint City/County Planning Committee, it seemed a real step forward when Mayor Charles Gordon of Mountain View brought to the inner city council -- that is, the mayor's committee -- a plan for regional thinking having to do with the individual city's planning decisions. This proposal hopes to establish a planning policy committee to function in a manner similar to the joint city/county planning committee. Generally we hope to discuss matters of mutual concern among the cities, and to discuss them with regional thinking coming forward from the different cities, so we'll avoid the decisions we've had in the past of decisions being made by these individual cities without the benefit of knowing what their neighbors think or the benefit of at least thinking regionally before these decisions are made. Segment 2 (color, sound): Theatrical performance on sparse stage, with swordfight, and king and queen.
