Reel 1: KNTV special report on Army pilots in Vietnam. Reporter interviews three pilots who have returned from Vietnam about their experiences. Reel 2: Segment 1: William J. Williams receives endorsement of Negro Political Action Group for Secretary of State: interviewed about whether he'll split the party, what are the obligations of the Secretary of State during a campaign (sound film); Segment 2: Visit Your Airports Day at Santa Clara County's four airports: shots of people in airport terminal, PSA jet on tarmac, helicopter, Gemini module on display (silent film). Reel 3: Silent images of a U.S. Army helicopter, an Army prop plane, mechanic checking oil of plane, line of pilots at Army Aviation Section. This is followed by journalist statement to camera introducing his segment: "If anyone has any doubts as to the tremendous job that the army aviators are performing in Vietnam, then a visit to this aviation facility at Fort Ord would certainly dispel those doubts. For this 20 man unit is composed almost entirely of Vietnam veterans, an elite group of fliers with a record second to none. They have a combined total of over 7,000 hours in combat, with an average of over 450 combat missions. Under the command of Colonel Ted Devine, the section abounds with decoration: 12 Air Medals, 95 Oak Leaf Clusters, 2 Purple Hearts, 3 Bronze Stars and the Distinguished Flying Cross. I would like you to meet some..." According to script, this is part of a special on Vietnam fliers, introduced, "Some who have fought in Vietnam are now returning home to tell first hand what the war is like.
