Reel 2: San Jose Chapter of the American Red Cross issues emergency appeal for blood donors: silent footage of the inside of the Red Cross operations showing empty tables, empty cold storage; sound interview with doctor who explains that the current shortage is partly due to annual decline after the holidays and also because blood has been sent to New York City during the city's transportation strike (silent/sound film).
