Description: KNTV San Jose broadcast news footage for August 20, 1966. Segment 1 (sound): Interview with San Jose Police Officer David Harrison, who arrested African-American Charles Smith on a traffic charge in East San Jose on August 18th, and describes events leading up to resulting "riots." Harrison tried to cuff Smith, who resisted, and Harrison then placed Smith in a chokehold. Smith fell unconscious, but recovered and according to Harrison, continued to resist. Harrison says he did not strike Smith, nor does he recall any other officer striking Smith. Segment 2 (silent, color): Titan 3-C rocket launch at Cape Kennedy's Titan III Complex 41. The boosters were built at United Technology Center's Sunnyvale rocket production site.
