Junior rodeos yes sir would have happened without that Oldtimer all began with a tin [Music] can that's little Bobby Lee on the left and my nephew Mike on the right Bobby's taking the low road and Mike's taking the high road quite sure that Billy Slater won't notice them and is he ever going to be surprised when his old old nag starts running away from her own tail but this older's been around you've really got to know your stuff to fool him just [Music] watch Sheriff Billy Slater has a Hanging Tree all ready for horse [Music] rustlers you know he told Bobby and Mike when I was young many an omry got hang for fooling with horses but I've got another plan for you so you think you know your way around horses well here's what you're going to do organize a junior Rodeo say that's an [Applause] idea well sir let me tell you our little old Cow Town never had seen such going on Billy's youngsters hit us with posters most everywhere we went pretty soon we were just as head up about the junior Rodeo as Billy and the kids themselves the whole town started getting the rodeo bug that went for some of the best Riders from the high school yeah Oldtimer Billy Slater was really doing a [Music] job most everybody in Town's turned out for the great day there's Hank evans's angus bulls all slicked up for the [Music] Rodeo going to be some tough competition here today caves for riding and roping into the Corral with him everybody line up for the first race Billy Slater is really helping the kids run their show they're off Chuck storm wins that was a close finish [Applause] and there they go for the lead race get off those horses fast grab the bridal show them [Music] cowgirl c r time and there goes [Music] Mike too bad better luck next time kid Sam wood champion crooper of Junior [Music] High put him down fella the seconds are going [Music] fast 26 [Applause] seconds Jim ran Champion calf roper of senior high off his horse in a Flash just like his dad at a big time [Music] Rodeo yes sir 16 seconds half Rider stand by he'll be a bull rider [Music] yet here comes Bobby and there he goes the girls aren't bashful [Music] either and there goes the youngest bull rider of them all shs should have done better than that kind of tall for a calf Rider Betty's in high school you should see the boys when she go square [Applause] dancing HOH there's a belly landing if I ever saw one and here's a nose [Music] [Applause] [Music] dive it's all the same for Mary Lou beauty contest or calf riding she can win them both yes [Applause] [Music] sir [Applause] Senior High bull ridden this Angus bull is no hobby [Music] horse will you look at that bull he's really [Music] mad and here's Hank Davis only two years ago he was still riding cabs his dad's going to be Mighty proud of him [Music] [Applause] today Bron riding time just 6 seconds and here's SL bar K's minus Bron But Clyde B sits him like he was glued to the [Music] [Applause] saddle okay Glenn get out there and show them how to do [Music] it watch out that ground's awful hard yeah we sure had us a junior rodeo and then it came prize giving [Music] [Applause] time prizes for winning and prizes for trying yes sir the junior Rodeo is here to stay and nobody's happier about it than older Billy [Music] Slater
