Description: Silent color film footage that moves fluidly between scales — from sweeping coastal panoramas down to the microscopic — to document aquatic invertebrate life along what appears to be a Florida shoreline. It opens with overexposed frames of a blue crab before settling into vivid live-action footage of a tattooed oysterman standing on the bow of a flat skiff, hauling long-handled tongs out of a wide, calm bay and dumping cascades of dark, knobby oyster clusters onto the boat's white deck, a long wooden dock and green treeline visible across the water behind him. The film then dives below the surface, presenting stunning close-up and macro footage of a large spiny lobster on the dark seafloor — first in a full body shot showing its barbed orange-brown carapace, long whip antennae, and multi-jointed legs against scattered gravel and black rock, then in an extreme close-up of its banded, armoured tail that reveals the intricate segmented texture of its exoskeleton. A wide-angle surface shot establishes the coastal habitat: jagged coquina rock formations along a bright white-sand beach, with a natural arch worn through the stone and the Atlantic stretching to the horizon. The film then shifts to a small, pale jellyfish filmed from directly below against a vivid cerulean-blue sky, its translucent bell and trailing fringes making it look suspended in air rather than water. The most striking section is a prolonged microscopy sequence, where an amoeba-like organism with irregular, spiky pseudopods crawls across a pale grey slide field alongside dark amorphous particles, tiny oval cells, and other free-floating microorganisms — an otherworldly, almost abstract tableau. Near the close, the camera returns to ground level for a nearly abstract shot of gentle waves washing over a wet, sandy-brown mudflat, and the film ends on an orange-terracotta surface populated by several pale, thread-thin worms curling and writhing in loose S-shapes.
