Mysore is one of the most highly industrialised states in India. Works include the Mysore Iron and Steel Works; the Krishnasagar Dam, where the river Kaveri has been harnessed; Sivasamundrum and Jog Falls; the state-owned porcelain works and power generating station; the aircraft industry and a factory for manufacturing telephones and electronic equipment.
