Description: Investigates the importance of domestic cattle to the Indian people, especially the Hindus. Explain that the Hindu tradition forbids its followers to kill or eat cows, but Hindus may consume the cow's milk and cheese, and use the cow's dung as fuel and fertilizer. Observes that, since cows are sacred, many shrines are built to "Mother Cow" and cows are allowed to wander unharmed throughout the towns and cities.
