Complete Record: This 10-minute film is designed to introduce students in grades 1 through 6 to beginning concepts about the earth's relationship to our solar system. This animated film first presents how people have viewed the earth throughout history. It then presents the students of a voyage into space and the following concepts are emphasized: there is twice as much water as land on the earth's surface; all continents have such features as deserts, mountains, and rivers; the earth is continuously rotating on an invisible axis; the sun's rays on a rotating earth cause day and night; and gravity is the force that causes things to fall to earth and remain there.
