Description: These film reels consist of black & white footage and document the activities, events, and contests of the Los Angeles County Fair in 1960. The footage encompasses diverse scenes, including a home exhibit, horse racing and riding, hog calling, acrobats, a parade, a pageant, the miniature garden railroad, the Fine Arts building, a United States Air Force art exhibit, and a ski jump exhibition. The sculptor Betty Davenport Ford is also featured. The film also contains footage of the fair's parking lot and an aerial view of the fairgrounds from the skyride. The film is part of the Fairplex Records, which document the Los Angeles County Fair's vibrant 100-year history (1922-present) through a variety of materials and formats. Fairplex is a non-profit organization that operates the Los Angeles County Fair.
