Description: A lyrical film about the myths and crafts of China and how they have been transmitted from generation to generation. As the narrator recounts ancient Chinese tales and their post-Revolution interpretations, the camera lingers on delicate depictions of legends in ivory, mother-of-pearl and shell. The remainder of the film concentrates on the amazing skill of an artisan who fashions a miniature doll from a mixture of colored honey and flour.
