Description: Commissioned by the City of Dallas, this educational film provides instructional freeway and motor travel etiquette for Dallas drivers. Mel Blanc, best known as the voice of Bugs Bunny, narrates and provides sounds effects for Candide, a Model A Ford navigating its way through an obstacle course of Dallas traffic replete with pink unicorns, trash trucks, rogue drivers, and tailgating bandwagons. Written and produced by Dallas’ Bill Stokes Associates for $36,400, the film premiered at a Dallas City Council meeting on September 28 , 1970 and was distributed to schools, civic organizations and businesses in hopes of reducing accidents on the Dallas Freeway System.
