Description: "How many days to America?" a little girl asks repeatedly as the small boat in which her family has fled their village crosses the open ocean. But it is her older brother who recalls the details of the night the soldiers came, the family's secret departure and the difficulties, dangers and disappointments experienced on the voyage. When this family and the others are allowed to land and are made welcome at a generously spread table, "What day is this?" a woman asks." It is coming-to America day," the boy replies. So it is, but it is also the special day when all Americans give thanks for freedom and safety- Thanksgiving Day Based on the novel of the same title by Eve Bunting This film isn't in the public domain.
