Four vignettes of dramatized "case studies" illustrate the main ways in which supervisors can damage their own careers, or the careers of their staff, by a need for constant approval. Demonstrates that effective supervisors are those who overcome their fear of conflict, and are willing to make tough, honest decisions. Featuring possibly the earliest credited film role of actor and eventual Emmy-nominee James Sikking, as a supervisor unwilling to support a staff member's achievements.
