[Music] greetings ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another hour of decision it's a privilege and a joy to come into your home week by week with a message that we trust will bring comfort and cheer and salvation to your house tonight I'm going to talk on the greatest sacrifice in the history of the world I want you to stay tuned to that channel but first here's Cliff Bars and Beverly Shay with a word and a song he was an old man and as he sat in the rocking chair on the porch of his little Shack in the mountains of Carolina I could almost hear him say you know son when I was a little lad and after school hours worked around the farm with Dad I used to get sort of wearied out when even tide was come and I'd get sort of anxious like about the journey home but my father' lead the way and once in a while he'd turn around and say sort of cheery like and tender come on my son you're nearly home that always used to help me some and I followed father home I'm old and gray and feeble now and trembling in the knee but somehow life seems just the same as then it seemed to me I still get sort of worried out since even tide has come and I still get sort of anxious like about the journey home but my father leads the way and once in a while he'll turn round and say sort of cheery like and tender come on my child you're nearly home and same as then it helps me some so I'm following father home and to those of us who know him as our blessed savior it is a real hope that we have have that someday we shall see him and be like him the Bible says that every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself even as he is pure let's listen as bevay sings to us about our Heavenly home walking along life's Road one day I Heard a Voice so sweetly say a place up in heaven I'm building thee a beautiful beautiful home home sweet home home swee home where I'll never Ro I see the light of that City so bright my home sweet home I See the Light all that City see so bright my home [Music] sweet you know I wouldn't be here today if it were not for an unknown soldier at the Battle of Gettysburg my grandfather was in that battle and going up pickets charge you remember many Southerners lost their lives and my grandfather was shot in the leg and as he was lying there and he thought that uh he was going to bleed to death bullets were flying all about one bullet came along and grazed out his right eye and then an unknown soldier came along dragged him into a ravine bound up his leg and left him there for the Medics to come and get him if it hadn't been for that Soldier and for the sacrifice he made in the midst of that battle to save my grandfather I wouldn't be here today I want to talk about the greatest sacrifice that was ever made the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross of Calvary for your sins and my sins because the greatest sacrifice of all ages was made by Jesus Christ it all started many thousands of years ago it started in the Garden of Eden and I want to read you about it in the third chapter of Genesis it's all recorded All the Troubles all the difficulties all the problems all the headaches all the Wars all the confusions all the greed and jealousy that we have today started in the Garden of Eden many thousands of years ago and it was for those sins that Jesus Christ paid the Supreme sacrifice when he died I want you to see in the third chapter of Genesis the scripture says now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made and he said unto the woman y hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree of the Garden in that passage of scripture we find the very beginning of sin and human depravity as we know it today because the Bible teaches us that God placed man and woman in the garden and in the garden they lived in a Perpetual Paradise everything was perfect they didn't have any problems they didn't even have to work for a living in those days everything was perfect the economic conditions there was perfect tranquility and peace in that Garden God didn't make man just a little button that he could push and a little piece of Machinery that would obey him God made man a free moral agent the ability to choose between right and wrong God said you can enjoy all the fruits of the garden except one tree and if you eat of that particular tree you'll die one day the devil came along in the form of a serpent and said to Adam and Eve why you're not going to die why if you eat of that fruit you're going to become as other gods and you're going to have happiness and joy such as you've never known and you'll become the richest people in all the universe if you'll lead of that tree they believe the devil's lie rather than God's truth and so they ate the fruit and what happened instead of becoming as other gods instead of having their eyes open and becoming wealthy and even wiser the scripture says that they became naked in their own sights and they realized that they disobeyed God and sinned against almighty God and the Bible teaches that they went out and sowed fig leaves on themselves to hide themselves from their own nakedness and to hide themselves from God but God came along in the cool of the day and God saw through the Fig leaves and God saw their sin and the nakedness of their soul and God went out into the fields and slew the Beast of the field and took these skins and wrapped them in these skins to hide their nakedness one from the other and from God and that was the first time that blood was shed in order to save man and was a type of the death of Jesus Christ that was to come 4,000 years later God said Adam and Eve you've sinned against me you've disobeyed me all right you have to take the consequences I told you that in the day you eat you're going to die my word is truth and here's what happened as a result of man's Disobedience and man's sin first of all God cursed the serpent that's the reason the serpent who was the most beautiful of all the Beast of the field now crawls on its belly it's the enemy of mankind because of the Garden of Eden God cursed the serpent then the second thing that happened women have sorrow and suffering in child birth all the suffering that all the women have endured in childbirth down through the ages are result of woman's sin in the Garden of Eden and the curse and Judgment of God because of that sin and then the Bible says that the Earth was cursed all the thorns and thistles and because man has to work and labor by the sweat of his brow for his living and for all that he has comes as a direct result of sin and then the Bible teaches physical death comes as a result of sin all the graveyards all the hearses all the ambulances all of that is a result of the sin of man in the Garden of Eden but most of all man suffered Eternal death separation from God at that precise moment the moment that man sinned and disobeyed God in that precise moment he was separated from God and Jesus called it hell Jesus called it the second death the Bible says man dies the first time physically he dies the second time spiritually separated from God and that is the very reason that Jesus Christ the son of God came to die he died physically for you and he was raised again so that the sting of death is taken out secondly he died spiritually when God turned his back he said my God my God why hast Thou forsaken me and in that moment Jesus Christ suffered spiritual debt for you he paid the Supreme sacrifice on the cross of Calvary and I wouldn't be here to tell you the Glorious good news tonight were it not for the sacrifice of a soldier at Gettysburg but most of all if it were not for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary 1900 years ago you can know Christ you can accept him and Jesus Christ can bring peace Joy inner Serenity and can quiet the raging of your heart tonight if you let Christ come into your heart you can do it right now and if you will I'm going to ask you to bow in prayer with me will you I'm going to pray for you yes grandmother Granddad father mother young man young woman bow your head right now I want to pray for you that you might know the glory and the thrill of trusting Jesus Christ shall we pray our father and our God we pray in Christ's name that thou would move into the hearts of many people and that many shall come to know Christ as Lord and Savior but we ask it in his name amen somebody knows when your heart aches and everything seems to go wrong somebody knows when the Shadows need chasing away with a song Somebody knows when you're lonely tired discouraged and blue somebody wants you to know him and know that he dearly loves [Music] you somebody loves you when we [Music] Somebody Loves You When strong always is waiting to help you he watches you one of the throne needing his friendship so holy needing his is watch care so true his name we call his name [Music] Jesus he loves everyone he loves you m the [Music]
