Home alone

A large suburban family accidentally leaves its youngest child behind when it flies off to Paris for Christmas. Kevin awakens to find himself home alone. Left to fend for himself and with the phone out of order, Kevin eats junk food and accidentally sets his brother's pet spider loose. To further complicate matters, the boy's house is targeted by two determined but bumbling burglars. Amazingly resourceful, Kevin foils the crooks by using the threatening dialogue of a gangster movie and scattering the floor and outside steps with numerous booby traps. Meanwhile, Kevin's mother desperately tries to make her way home to him and and is aided by a group of polka musicians. (Circulates).

The McCallister family is preparing to spend Christmas in Paris, gathering at Peter and Kate's home outside of Chicago on the night before their departure. In the confusion and rush to get to the airport, Kevin is accidentally left behind. Kevin soon becomes frightened by his next door neighbor, "Old Man" Marley, who is rumored to have murdered his family with a snow shovel in 1958; as well as the "Wet Bandits", Harry and Marv, a pair of burglars who have been breaking into other vacant houses in the neighborhood and have targeted the McCallisters' house.
