[Music] Christmas is a holiday everyone enjoy right stars angels Christmas trees wreaths and the birth of the Christ child are all ideas David our first grader used in his mural here he puts the finishing touches on his Christmas tree with tempera paint he wants to make the stars and ornaments twinkle so he cut shapes from bright colored foil the easy pastes on the trees and on the painted stars with rubber cement have you ever helped decorate your family Christmas tree with ornaments you've made yourself it makes Christmas extra exciting [Music] one type of ornament David likes to make is the wire and glitter times any kind of wire will do here he twists it into a number of shapes when he gets one he likes he brushes on rubber cement although any paste or glue can be used he then shakes on colored glitter until it sticks on all sides of the wire all year old Jamie helps to finish the trimming that evening while the boy's mother reads them a Christmas bedtime story David surprises his family he shows them a gift he is wrapped in paper that he printed himself and trimmed with one of his glitter ornaments another holiday for which it's fun to create is st. Valentine's Day [Music] colored paper scissors and flower paste are the only materials needed Jamie isn't worrying too much about the paste supply he uses as part of his design he knows his folks were like his Valentine anyway his brother is more careful in planning his Valentine their friends will be glad to receive them it was so much fun making Christmas tree ornaments but the boys think an Easter tree for the table centerpiece will be welcomed by the rest of the family first they cut egg shapes of various sizes out of colored paper then they decorate each egg with their own designs some with crayons others with paints [Music] punching a hole with the point of a pencil and tying a string through it makes the egg ready to hang a bear branch placed in a can of sand served as a tree see the many ways in which the boys decorated their Easter eggs family and guests will enjoy the finished tree on the table a holiday the boys always look forward to is Thanksgiving this year their mother suggested that they make place cards with a dinner table since turkeys are pretty important at this time of year they draw many colored pictures of turkeys using their crayons they find the pressing very firmly with the crayons gives them nice bright colors David experiments with this turkey drawing and he uses a number of bright colors in its tail [Music] he wants to see what effect watercolor will have on his drawing so he brushes it on the paper most of the water rolls off the turkey and makes a nicely colored background after David printed the names on their finished place cards he and Jamie put them on the table let your imagination make every holiday an exciting experience for you and your family [Music]
