Based on the play THE FRONT PAGE, but with rewritten parts so that Rosalind Russell is a woman formerly married to her boss, editor Cary Grant. Ralph Bellamy is himself as Rosalind's new beau; Cary wants her back as a wife and reporter. She agrees to cover a hanging and reporter mania sets in.
