Hidden Heritage

Follows Dr. David Driscol, art historian and painter, on a sojourn to the south as he presents a lecture on African-American art from the American Revolution to World War II, creating a parallel between his personal history and the topic. Interweaves scenes from a lecture slide show, personal narration, archival film, and Dr. Driscoll's odyssey to create a collage of images and music which reflects the heritage of African-American painting. Features work by Aaron Douglas, Palmer Hayden, Joshua Johnston, Archibald Motley and others.
