This made-for-television film integrates living people with animated characters to teach children about the human circulatory system. Dr. Research (Frank Baxter) and the writer (Richard Carlson) try to convince Hemo the Magnificent that humans understand the value and nature of blood. They outline the history of human knowledge about blood, and then describe how blood circulates through the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, arteries, and veins.
