Tells the story of an amorous Casanova-type who woos and wins three women in a film made at the suggestion of Reiniger's good friend, Jean Renoir, who wanted her to create a commedia dell'arte film to the music of 17th and 18th century composers. Produced by Lotte Reiniger, 1930-31.
