Description: Story about a female hamster, following her through her courtship, her motherhood, and the raising of her family of eight children., Uses live photography to show a female hamster, Naomi, during her courtship, motherhood, and raising of eight baby hamsters. The day-to-day development of the hamster litter from birth to maturity is documented. The family activities, fights amoung the young, the mother's scoldings, and the young's various play and feeding activities are presented in an atmosphere in which the animals are slightly personified. Throughout, tips on the care and feeding of hamsters are interwoven into the narration.
