This ad for Bufferin, buffered aspirin, dates to the 1960s and features the tagline "Half the Time of Aspirin". Bufferin is simply a combination of aspirin and three buffering agents, which allow fast pain relief without an upset stomach. The product Bufferin was developed in 1944 by William D. "Shorty" Paul, MD, who also developed Rolaids.
