This brief footage captures scenes of Governor John Connally filing for candidacy for his second term as Governor of the State of Texas. Governor Connally signs paperwork and takes an oath in an Austin office. Of note is that Governor Connally’s right arm remains in a sling due to his lingering injury from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, causing him to sign his paperwork and shake hands with his left hand, despite being right-handed.
