Go Slow on the Brighton Line

Duration:

Year Published: 1982

Complete Record: Take a quick trip from the heart of London to the seaside town of Brighton. The camera is mounted on the front of the engine so you see everything from the engineer's perspective. By recording just a few frames for each minute of the trip, we are given the experience of speeding across the countryside and completing the 200 mile journey in less than 4 minutes. The action is sped up through the use of stop motion photography, (time-lapse photography) probably 1 frame per second, which has the effect of compressing time when the film is played back at normal speed.
