Glacier Trails, 1941

[Music] this realm of the bus will take you a long way to see plenty but eventually it will speed you on to a place where another kind of locomotion is needed horse back from here on so rope a pony [Music] the oldtime Western caus is the kind of mount for Steep Trails the Steed for Glacier [Music] Park saddled and bridled all set for a climb to Heights that reveal the full Wonder of this Workshop of the forces of nature millions of years years ago this towering area was an inland sea that's proved by ocean formed rocks and marine organisms by sea shells found high in the mountains here long ago Tides rolled and waves were breaking here where the Summits rise High then stupendous pressures deep in the earth gave a mighty thrust upward the bottom of the Inland sea was raised and became dry land was pushed higher and became Hills higher still to become lofty mountains the Rockies such is the geological background for this scene of Summer vacationers who Adventure along lofty Glacier [Music] Trails it's no fall for scenery [Music] no policial hotel service ah but what a picnic and if a thrill of sport be desired well how about a few minutes of [Music] fishing visitors are frequent too the squirrels are tank they're used to the tourist and expect a tidbit or two Montana means land of mountains and this Maze of summits and valleys cags and canyons certainly does deserve the name travel loated but it's just as primitive for these vacationers as it was for the first pioneers who came this way no million dooll roads no Long Level straightaway way the trail is up and around and then up and around some [Music] more those shy creatures are not so very shy here protected no hunting and the exclamation might be oh dear they don't seem so very wild here at Glacier Park oh but don't try to walk up and pet an old rocky mountain [Music] ram the glacier the ice that for ages has been shaping these mountains the frozen power that with imperceptible motion is the sculpture of Peaks and valleys evening is coming and Spirits are high our are high and our heart Heart full of rapture we on the [Music] glaz is beside the [Music] in as we along with our heart singing G this [Music] song the [Music] where
