Description: Documents a two-year project conducted by Dr Madeline Hunter and several members of her staff to assist teachers in an inner-city school in improving the learning environment provided for their pupils. Focuses upon the major problems which were actually preventing any effective attention to learning needs. Records the demonstration techniques used and various reactions of teachers in the school to the project, which included enthusiastic acceptance, new insights into old behavior and resistance to change.
