Description: Illustrates the application of similar triangles to the indirect measurement of heights. Shows George, a young boy, as he builds a model to demonstrate how one can measure a tree by using the tree's shadow and a short stick and applying the mathematical principle that corresponding sides of similar triangles compare in the same ratio. Concludes with George's application of the principle in finding the height of the school flagpole.
