Description: Footage of the 1977 Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco. Parade contingents represented in this footage include: Stonewall Coalition, Gay Solidarity with Native American Sovereignty, Third World Gay Caucus, Gay Health Workers, and the Golden Gate Business Association.

In 1977, Save Our Children, led by Anita Bryant, was campaigning against an ordinance that banned discrimination in areas of housing, employment, and public accommodation based on sexual orientation in Dade County Florida. The campaign was based on conservative Christian beliefs that condemned homosexuality as sin. LGBTQ teachers were especially targeted. Many of the banners seen in this footage represent queer activism against discrimination based on sexuality, and the newly formed moral majority.
