Description: In roughly 1950, Ray Garner filmed this silent footage home movie of wife Ginny and 5-year-old daughter Gay, probably taken in the Vulture Mountains Recreational Area near Hassayampa, Arizona. Gay and Ginny hang laundry, wash dishes, cook, and pitch tent. Ray pulls out one of Gay's upper teeth. The film shows the Garners' white Plymouth woodie wagon. A sign describes the "Hassayampa Legend," which suggests that women and girls who drink from the river will never tell the truth again, and Gay takes a drink.
