A U. S. Cavalry officer, accused of provoking an Indian massacre in order to hide from the public the operations of a mining syndicate, is posthumously cleared of false charges by his ne'er-do-well son. Setting, Arizona in the 1880's.
Apache Indians massacred at Furnace Creek fort in 1880 after an army captain cites orders forcing him to abandon a wagon train. General Blackwell is blamed for the incident and court-martialed. One of his sons, Rufe, a captain from West Point, travels west to find out what happened. But the real villain is a mining boss who bribed Walsh and organized the Apache raid.
