Description: Original camera footage edited for broadcast for KNTV San Jose Channel 11 news on November 8, 1966. The broadcast script for this date has not survived. Reel 1: Segment 1 (sound): KNTV reporter interviews manager of the Blue Chip Redemption Center, who says they are not going out of business, they are opening a new store soon. He's still seeing a run on merchandise by about 1500 tickets a day. Segment 2 (sound): Interior of a small market where a customer or employee was robbed. The man tells how the robbery happened. Segment 3 (sound): Reporter Dick Currier outside the Fremont General Motors assembly plant, where Local UAW 1364 is threatening to strike over safety concerns. Reel 2: Segment 1 (silent): Football game action inside a stadium, unknown teams. Appears to be a pro football match. Segment 2 (sound): Voice-over over an empty screen about how San Jose State player Danny Holman is a tremendous team player. Segment 3 (silent): Shots of the San Jose Mercury News headlines for election day, "All Over But the Voting." Segment 4 (silent): Voting in progress; one woman being shown how to use the IBM Votomatic machine. Reel 3 (silent + sound): Reporting from the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors chamber, where all of the night's election results will be tallied and posted on the walls. Downstairs in the computer lab, Rik Whitaker reports on the IBM computers that are tallying the votes mechanically for the first time in the entire county.
