Benjamin Franklin is frequently viewed as a little more than a hypocrite who preached a tiresome opportunist morality that he failed to practice in his own life. The film focuses on Franklin the satirist and humorist and presents such works as "The epherma." To capture the flavor of eighteenth century Philadelphia, the film was shot on location in and around such historic sites as the Powell House and Independence Hall.
