In this sensitive film without dialogue or narration, the only sound is that of music from an old music box which provides the background for a child confronting death for the first time. As the adults mourn in traditional ways, the little girl retreats to the attic where she recalls the happy times spent with her grandmother. Returning to her grandmother's room, the priest and grownups absent, she sits by her grandmother's side one last time.
