Content Description The raw, unedited footage of the new natural grass playing surface being installed at Williams-Brice Stadium. During the 1983-84 offseason, at the urging of new coach Joe Morrison, the university removed the AstroTurf and replaced it with natural grass. This feature includes footage taken from different times of the year during different stages of the renovation's completion. While the sod is being laid down on the stripped field, administrator over athletic department facilities, Sarge Frye, can be seen walking across and inspecting the field Contributing Institution University of South Carolina. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
