Content Description
GAME RECAP: Collin Mackie converted on three consecutive field goal attempts in the fourth quarter to lift the 9th ranked Gamecocks to a come from behind victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies. Trailing 24-17, Mackie converted from 28, 50 and 23 to give the Gamecocks a thrilling 26-24 win in Blacksburg. Kevin Hendrix, Ron Rabune and Robert Robinson led the Gamecock defense. Mike Dingle's 53-yard pass reception from Todd Ellis and Robert Brooks' 98-yard kickoff return supplied the remaining points along with a fourth Mackie field goal to notch the Gamecocks' sixth straight victory of the season. Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document USC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
