Content Description
The first quarter play-by-play footage from the 1987 Gator Bowl played between the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Louisiana State University Tigers at the Gator Bowl Stadium in Jacksonville, FL on December 31, 1987. The Gamecocks lost to the Tigers 30-13. The only Gamecock score in this footage came from the leg of Collin Mackie with a 44 yard field goal. Mackie is the most prolific specialist in school history, leading the record list for career points scored with 330 points scored. Notable Players: Todd Ellis, Sterling Sharpe, Harold Green, Brad Edwards. note on back of tape says: 1 of 4, 20 minute tape

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
