QB Todd Ellis completed 14 out of 25 attempts to get his senior season off to a great start. Placekicker Collin Mackie set a school record for career scoring and punter Daren Parker kept the Blue Devils penned up with his punting in the second half. LB David Taylor and safety Stephane Williams both had key interceptions during the second half to allow the Gamecocks to maintain their lead.
