GAME RECAP: Freshman QB Steve Swinehart led a second-half surge by the Gamecock offense that propelled Carolina to a 24-6 victory over the visiting Blue Devils. Swinehart energized the Carolina offense with a 57 yard sprint to set up a touchdown in the third quarter and then tossed a 36-yard strike to WR Phillip Logan to seal the victory for the Gamecocks. A short plunge by RB Kevin Long and a Britt Parrish 28-yard field goal in the first half gave Carolina a tenuous 10-6 halftime lead.
