Highlights from the entire 1983 football season, Coach Joe Morrison's first season at the helm of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. According to labels on the tape, these highlights were used in Coach Joe Morrison weekly's show. The narrator for these highlights is Joe Morrison Show host Jim Forest. The Gamecocks finished the nation's 2nd ranked toughest season schedule with 5 wins and 6 losses.

Notable highlights include a 31-7 Gamecock win against the Navy Midshipmen football team on November 12, 1983, where the Gamecocks held the nation's 3rd leading rusher, Napoleon McCallum, to a season-low 62 yards on 21 carries.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
