Content Description
[Video begins at 00:50] Extensive highlights from the 1971 football season and documentation of campus life at the University of South Carolina. The Gamecocks finished the season with 6 wins and 5 losses. Contains highlights from the notable season-opening win over the 17th ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 24-7 (1:55). This film contains aerial footage of the first views of new additions to Carolina Stadium, adding 57,000 seats and an upper deck. Narrated by Bob Fulton. Production of WIS-TV Sports.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
