Description: Produced by the Dallas-based Bill Stokes Associates for the Raymond D. Nasher Company, this 1970s television commercial promotes Flower Mound New Town, a Dallas suburb and housing development project. Flower Mound was one of several towns selected to benefit from the New Communities Act, or Title IV of the 1968 Housing and Urban Development Act. The legislation provided federal assistance for new development projects intended to help turn the chosen locations into model cities. The proposal for Flower Mound New Town included the construction of 14 residential neighborhoods, each containing 1,400 housing units, a shopping center, and an elementary school. Partners Edward S. Marcus and Raymond D. Nasher abandoned the New Town venture in 1974, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development foreclosed on the project two years later.
