Reel 1: Segment 1 (silent): Shots of people being given dental examinations. Segment 2 (silent + sound): Man on stage in small auditorium, speaking to the audience with a signing interpreter. Cut to outdoor site where a group of men and women are speaking to each other in sign language. Appears to be an outdoor camping site or park. KNTV reporter Dennis Rowedder then interviews one of the men, with an interpreter. He says this is a group for Episcopalian church workers in our nation from different parts of the United States. "We represent almost all parts from New England to the South to here to the Pacific. We have a convention every year. Almost all the missionaries and lay people meet to discuss our work, and plans for the future." Segment 3 (silent): Great San Jose Chamber of Commerce awards dinner. Certificates and plaques are handed out as the audience claps. Reel 2: Segment 1 (sound): Police spokesman describing a civilian death as the result of a high speed chase of three young men caught stripping tires from a car. Segment 2 (silent): Shot of the street sign at the intersection of West Julian and Alaska, in San Jose. Shot of the exterior of The Alaska Club and neon sign. Cut to interior, with man and woman behind the bar. The woman is speaking to the police. Shot of the cash register. Segment 3 (silent): Motorcycle cop outdoors on a residential street, arresting a young man wearing white jeans, a white t-shirt, with long blond hair. The man holds a cigarette in his mouth, with his hands cuffed behind him. His girlfriend, wearing a floral dress, and sunglasses, kisses him. The man is eventually put into a car and driven away as the young woman looks on. Reel 3: Segment 1 (sound): Interview with a member of the California Assembly, talking about the proposed legislation to increase the salaries of legislators. He says the raise isn't enough compared to other private sector jobs. He doesn't anticipate any problems getting the legislation past the voters. Segment 2 (sound): Interview with one of the men accused by City Councilwoman Virginia Shaffer of benefiting from political payoff. "As for Mrs. Shaffer's charges, I would rather expect them, cause as she stated, we've been political enemies since her initial entry into politics in San Jose.
