Description: Presented by the Florida Development Commission, this promotional film captures the scene at the 1966 Miss International Airline Stewardess pageant held at the Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. Before the pageant, the contestants relax by the pool and visit the Miami Seaquarium, where they met television star Flipper. During the pageant, the flight attendants model evening wear, outfits representing their home countries, and their flight uniforms. Dora Marina Somoyoa of Aviateca Guatemala takes the crown, with Alana Collins of Trans-Texas Airways coming in second. Previously known as Aviation Enterprises and later known as Texas International Airways, TTa was a Houston-based airline with passenger service to airports across the United States and multiple in Mexico. The company merged with Continental Airlines in 1982, which merged with United Airlines in 2010.
