Farm machinery safety

Description: This 1970 film examines safety factors relating to farm machinery. The film outlines safety features of tractors, including overhead protective frames, guards, maintenance, braking, safety belts and hitching, as well as the importance of guards on a variety of large pieces of farm machinery. The footage includes tractors being used on the farm and examples of common accidents that can occur, inlcuding several scenes of tractors overturning in the field. Of particular interest are the examples of machinery used in the 1960s, including Ford and Massey-Ferguson tractors, the footage of testing on Rheem overhead protective frames and scenes of large dairy farms in New South Wales.
