[Music] ever looks Li carefully at the places where people live in a city this house 50 55 years old maybe been sad happy [Music] quiet everybody who's lived here has used the house in a different way because people are different [Music] the second they move in things begin to change [Music] yep everything changes from time to time from people to people everything except the one thing that ties the people to the city and the rest of the country well like what happened in this house it has the comfortable lived in personality of Bert Reilly and his wife and the kids of course because there's nothing like three kids growing and pushing it the world to give a man in his house a lived in personality and like almost everybody the Reilly's have reconditioned twice remodeled once expanded the house fixed it to suit the ever-changing pattern of living everything in the house except this in sickness health through teenage and marriage this center of living hasn't changed this is Kay Riley mother of three one boy married two girls one living in an apartment with a roommate and the other still very much at home when you've important things to discuss hello Oh daddy it's you appreciate it mom right here daddy hi what took you so long to answer I got in the back basement why'd you call did you forget something well I think I left my glasses on my workbench last night Oh bird I just came from the basement what about the spare ones you have at the office can't see them anywhere well I'll check if I find them I'll bring them down okay oh you hear anything from Sally yet honestly you're as nervous as Kim well it doesn't every day you expect your first grandchild or is it every day just relax the baby will come when it comes babies have a way of doing these things okie-doke by the air might please don't forget you promised to shorten my new dress all right gear but I just want to see how Sally is honestly you're just as nervous as daddy thought you said not to worry about Sally oh honey now honey you sit down here and take it easy and I will fix the breakfast honey sit down just relax oh hello Oh mom hi no no she's uh she's waiting oh yeah she feels great that's a little too much work but you know how women are I'm sure she or as soon as anything happens okay MA bye sure this is Tim the Riley's married son he lives in one of those bright new streamlined and and easier living type houses sit down and take it easy like I told you come on now let's not overdo this but show her you couldn't be late for the office well it doesn't matter a day like this I got late Tim sometimes you act like we're the only people in the whole world who ever had a baby aren't we all but honey take it easy today and please keep the phone with you I'll try to remember but I don't know later on how am I supposed to carry it around in one hand and the baby on the other oh I don't work out know I don't know I wish we had a telephone in every room in the house well no honey please don't get yourself upset what is it Sal isn't the baby well what is it no I promised your sister and I call her first thing this morning wonder if she's up yet yeah I guess so mmm so what are you doing honey down here oh yeah take it easy and don't talk too fast and here's an the temporarily jobless member of the Reilly family living in another part of the city with a roommate hello no it's Barney oh hi Sally how do you feel Bonnie he works nights in the reservation department of a local airline office he's trying hard to get a daytime job Oh swell oh just a man I'll see she's awake just it's for you it's Sally Hey hi ow how do you feel hmm sure I think I can come over later this afternoon call you bye any word about the new job supposed to call me this morning how about yours I'm supposed to hear today - Riley Oh Oh got it yeah yeah all right Gladys thank you daddy Gladys am I glad you called he's simply miserable oddly think Greg would stoop so low as to ask that goony Alice all she has her nice clothes dreamy figure but nothing in the brain Department hmm so do I I never want to hear his name again never I thought Greg was gonna ask me I thought she was never gonna mention his name again have patience dear this is a crisis Oh another one mm-hmm why does she have to have them all with the same boy who what when I see Greg in biology couldn't be GLaDOS again and I just know it isn't Greg he's out with that drippy Alice uh-huh couldn't be from me couldn't be Sally I talked to her earlier doctor was certain the baby wouldn't arrive till tomorrow no it couldn't be for me mmm might be Charlie Harris no he's out of town for the week no I couldn't be for me Pat answer the telephone yes daddy sure just a minute I think you want to talk to my father Danny's for you oh boy oh is it hello yes this is Bert Roddy oh yeah what when no I'm not the bird Riley the lived on the corner of maple and first streets in Scappoose Oregon when I was six years old scupper Sarika well I can't people let you sit at home and work in peace instead of making you get up walk clear into the den to answer questions all the way in from the living room mind you just answer silly questions on the telephone or all the way from upstairs or the basement no you look it now don't let's start this business again the telephones in the den it's been there ever since we moved here I need it for my work besides the dens in the middle of the house centrally located you can get to it from anywhere -
