Description: Uses animated photographs to present a short review of historical research on the brain and discusses recent innovations in brain research, indicating that, despite modern technology, there are still areas of the brain which remain a mystery. Presents amplification of brain waves through an electroencephalograph (EEG) to explore the chemical and electrical nature of the brain and traces the path of electrical impulses through the brain. Introduces new procedures such as electrical stimulation of the brain as a means of both checking physical disorders and recording electrical activity in brain research. Shows how chemicals in the form of drugs or alcohol affect the brain.
