Film shows the streets and scenes of Paris, France including the main tourist areas of the city and also some scenes filmed in Switzerland with mountains and a glacier. Shows Jungfraujoch, a town and a castle. Scenes in Paris include footage around Place du Carrousel, Jardin des Tuileries and surrounding area, Place de la Concorde, Palais de Chaillot, Place du Trocadero, the north-west bank of the Seine, the Île aux Cygnes and the south bank of the Seine by Notre Dame. Seen in these shots are the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, a portion of the Musée du Louvre, the Obelisque de Luxor, and Arc de Triomphe, statues in the Jardin des Tuileries, the Eiffel Tower, the statue of General Foch, statues around Palais de Challiot and Jardin des Tuileries, the Île aux Cygnes, the Statue of Liberty (which faces west towards its copy in New York), Notre Dame, a painter on the Seine’s South bank, the Bridge of Rue Saint Jacques and merchants on the bank of the river Seine.

In between the Paris footage are scenes from Switzerland. Baden Railway Station in Basel appears in a panning shot. Panoramas and still shots of houses and mountains in and around Grindelwald appear on this reel along with footage of the Hotel Bellevue Desalpes in Grindelwald. Other shots depict the Alps’s mountainous terrain where the photographer is accompanied by a group of people. Most of the shots show mountainous terrain, the Jungfrau summit and the Gletcherhorn summit among them. A sign displays trails around Jungfraujoch, some of which can most likely be seen in the footage as well as surrounding Mountains. The Sphinx Observatory on the Sphinx Summit can also be seen in this footage. Scenes of Orly airport followed by scenes of Lisbon, Portugal including shots of the Boca do Inferno, a chasm located in the seaside cliffs close to the Portuguese city of Cascais, in the District of Lisbon, and shots of the Alfama, the oldest district of Lisbon.

Home movies, four reels of 16mm film, donated by Ruth Ann Dungan, shot by Frank R. Dungan, in the late 1940s and 50s, along with an assortment of camera equipment. The films depict vacations taken by Frank and his family while in the military and offer insight into midcentury amateur film, the American economy and travel post-World War II. Scenes of New York within the films show Manhattan, Long Island, Coney Island, Jones Beach and Jamaica racetrack. Other films show scenes in Paris, France and Switzerland.
